New Zealand Gallery Nine - Auckland, North Island

NEW ZEALAND 2005 - Auckland, North Island:

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand, although Wellington is the capital. Like all the greatest cities I've ever seen, Auckland is a water city. It's a beautiful place, as these pictures will attest.

We went to the Museum of Natural History first, then we walked through the city. We had dinner at the top of their needle.

The next day we took a ferry ride to the town of Darwin. We hiked to an old gun battery atop on hill, then we hiked to the other one. Both afforded great views of the city.

I took some pictures of houses in Darwin while we walked, and I thought this would be a nice place to live. Any business commute would be a ferry ride, and the town itself would be a lovely place to live. I could live anywhere in New Zealand, but chances are Erik would need a big city like Auckland to do his work.

Not that a move to NZ is a likely event in our future, but one can dream.

Next is our final location, The Bay of Islands.
